Spongebob Thank You Card
I received a gift from one of my students, and I wanted to show my appreciation by making a thank you card with his favorite character. I knew my sister was eyeing up the SpongeBob Cricut cartridge, so I purchased it on eBay for $12.50 for her and had to try it out on this card before passing the cartridge to her. The background is embossed with the thank you Cuttlebug embossing folder and Bob is from the SpongeBob Cricut cartridge. I love how this card turned out, and I can't wait to see the look on the third grader's face! This card was entered in Cute Card Thursday's "Thank You Card" and Really Reasonable Ribbon's "Something New Plus Ribbon" challenge. I received a Cuttlebug for Christmas from my wonderful husband (something new), and the blue ribbon gave a splash of color while also adding some dimension to the background.

Jumping with Joy
I have a few friends that I occasionally make cards with. These lovely ladies introduced me to this fun hobby! Each person makes 1-2 samples and brings the materials for every one to make 3-4 of each card to take home. When you leave, you have about 12 new cards for your collection. I came across my first attempt at a card I made for these ladies and thought I'd challenge myself to make a replica only using the same materials: light green card stock, dark green printed paper, green ribbon, and a frog.
I'm sure it is pretty obvious that the left card was my first attempt ever at a card and the right card was my most recent creation. The ribbon is inside the S-fold of the new card. This time, I used light green ribbon with dark green spots and glued it on the s-fold in a straight line as an accent. The same sentiment and font were used, but this time, it was cut in the shape of a frog. The first frog came from clip art, and the new frog is from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge. I was inspired by Barb's s-fold anniversary card. These cards will be entered into Crafty Cardmaker's "Latest and Greatest" card challenge. The fun in this new creation is that my friends were over to make cards last night, and I learned that one of the ladies is having a boy. I could not wait to make this new card for her! For grins, I think I will also include my first attempt in her envelope as well. :)

Another Christmas Card
I made this card for a few last minute gifts. The embossing came from the Fiskars Texture Plates, and the reindeer is from the Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge. The ribbon reads, "Merry Christmas" in alternating red and green. This will be submitted in the Paper Playtime challenge "Anything Christmas".

Sick as a Dog
This Get Well Card was made for a coworker that has been sick all week. I placed some soup inside to help with her recovery. The graphic is from the Paper Pups Cricut Cartridge and fits the More Than Favors challenge to make a get well card. I was inspired CG.
Latest & Greatest
I was just thinking about how far I have come in designing cards over the past year. Crafty Cardmakers was reading my mind when they posted the challenge to upload your oldest and newest cards. The left card is my Christmas card from 2009. I thought it was great with the red borders and ribbon that matched the tree from the clip art off my computer. Shortly after this card was made, my husband bought me a Cricut for Christmas. The right card shows what I've done with my Doodlecharms cartridge, a stamp, brads, and a unique cut of the background paper for Christmas 2010.

Hot Cocoa Card
We had a blizzard hit our area today, so I finished making some Christmas gifts. I made several of these cards with a surprise packet of hot chocolate inside for friends. The card is similar to a matchbook. The snowman is from the Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge, and the stamp is from Stampin' Up. It is hard to tell, but the ribbon has snowflakes on it. This card fits the Fabulous Cricut challenge (hand made gift with a Cricut image [snowman]) and Paper Cutz (Use a Snowman). I was inspired by this get well card by CG.

2010 Christmas Card
As time passes, my cards are becoming more complex. I was very pleased with how these Christmas cards turned out, but it took more time to make for my entire list of family and friends than I anticipated. It was worth the time and effort! The reindeer is from Create a Critter, and the tree is from Doodlecharms. The right flap is held closed with a brad and ribbon.
The inside of the card has a pocket with a change of address card. This card will be entered into the Paper Cutz Challenge to use two kinds of patterned paper and Alphabet Challenge Blog F is for Foilage (Christmas Tree).
